About the author:
Elmer Nocheseda spent his childhood in Pateros, Metro Manila, and Angono, Rizal. While taking up Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University, he spent his summer months with various communities in many parts of the country, and developed an appreciation of Philippine folk crafts and beliefs. He has since made palaspas his lifetime passion. Aside from keeping a veritable collection of palaspas forms through the years from all over the Philippines, he is untiring in his advocacy to preserve and promote the art and crafts of palaspas weaving, and gives lectures and demonstrations in schools and other venues.
