About the author:
Carlos Quirino is one of the most prolific historians of our times. He has written more than thirty books, including the biography of Jose Rizal, The Great Malayan, which won for him, the first prize in the Commonwealth Biography contest. He was the founding curator of the Ayala Library and Museum and was a director of the National Library. In 1990, he was conferred the Legion of Honor for his written works on Philippine history.
