About the author:
Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta is the author of several books, including three collections of poetry, The Proxy Eros (2008) and Burning Houses(2013) and Hush Harbor. She studied communication at the Ateneo de Manila University and then creative writing at the New School in New York. In 2007, she won the Philippines Free Press Award in the poetry category, and in 2014, the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award, the most prestigious literary award in the Philippines. Her work has appeared in The Philippines Free Press and The New York Quarterly, among others.
