About the book:
We were called a “nation of servants”. We became controversial TV topic with “Filipina mail-order brides.” We were called a country of cheaters” in international sports and even a “country of medical schools of doubtful reputation.”
How did we become this way in the eyes of other nations? Maybe it is because we have failed to show the world who we are as a people. The name-calling, the contentions over the national anthem, the changing of our flag design, and now the demolition of heritage buildings are signs of what we are today: a nation with a lost identity.
